FAQ

  • 1. What is Vox Feminarum?
Vox Feminarum is an international organization committed to empowering and amplifying the voices of women composers in the realm of classical music, and Musical Theater. Founded with the mission of closing the gender gap in classical composition and musical theater, Vox Feminarum strives to provide a platform where women’s contributions to music are both recognized and celebrated. The organization operates in both the United States and Paris, creating a transatlantic bridge that fosters collaboration among women musicians from diverse backgrounds. Our work extends beyond traditional classical concerts, embracing a wide array of musical forms such as operas, musicals, spoken word, poetry, and choirs. Vox Feminarum believes in the transformative power of music to shape cultural narratives and, with our slogan "Shaping Silence Through Melodies," we are dedicated to ensuring that the works of women composers are no longer marginalized. Whether through live performances, educational initiatives, or advocacy, our organization creates opportunities for women composers to have their voices heard, while encouraging the next generation of female artists to break through barriers in the classical music world. Through these efforts, we seek to build an inclusive, diverse, and dynamic musical landscape for future generations.
